Competition prize fund tops £45,000!


We’re highly delighted to welcome our offshoot company, James Financial, on board as partners for our James Legal – The Business 2017 campaign.

They are the latest in a string of companies to put their weight behind our fantastic Business Booster competition – increasing the total prize fund to be shared between two stand-out regional businesses to £45,000.

Based in Beverley, James Financial provide high quality financial advice to individuals and businesses throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Like parent company James Legal, they pride themselves on breaking the mould when it comes to the way they operate.

A far cry from the stereotypical images of financial advisors as smooth-talking salesmen with little in the way of professional qualifications, James Financial actively ensure they are at the top of their game, can offer trustworthy, whole-of-market advice on all manner of financial products and are transparent and reasonable in the fees they charge for their support. Their advice includes everything from pensions and investments to tax planning, life assurance and protection.

James Financial is run by chartered financial planners Wayne Audsley and Phillip Betts.

“It was really a natural step for us to get involved and help support this initiative.”

He added: “In the wake of the 2007 financial crisis, sound advice is harder than ever to come by because many major banks have withdrawn from offering such a service, and a significant number of independent firms ceased trading.

“However, ironically, that qualified help and advice is needed more than ever. Changes to legislation governing pensions are giving people greater access to their funds, and the current economic environment is seeing an increasing move away from final salary schemes. Such developments are putting increased pressure on people to make the right choices. Against this backdrop, it is harder and harder for business people and individuals to know what to do for the best.

“That’s where we come in, and we can help them to navigate a path through these developments and make good decisions, to avoid any costly errors of judgement which could adversely affect their lives and businesses in the future.”

James Financial is contributing the following to our Business Booster competition:

  • Basic pension scheme set up and key man cover (protecting a business against the impact of losing vital expertise through the death or serious illness of key players in their business) up to a total value of £1,000 for each of the two winning entrants.
