What a year it’s been!11-12-2018
Well, we can’t quite believe it but our InspiringBusiness2018 campaign is drawing to a close after a fantastic year.
And what a finale we had at the Hallmark Hotel on 22 November – with over 100 people gathered to hear from our latest inspirational speakers, Andy Lampard, co-owner of the Highfield House wedding venue in Driffield and successful design house Zopsigog, and business funding expert Darren Peacock.
Both full of insights from their many years in business, Andy’s main advice was ‘jump!’. Success is all about being brave enough to follow your dreams, and focus on the things that matter, including family and friends. Meanwhile, Darren’s words of wisdom culminated in a quote from the inimitable John Lennon: ‘Everything will be OK in the end and if it’s not, it’s not the end’.

What’s it all about?
As specialist business lawyers, we want to inspire businesses across the Yorkshire & The Humber region to achieve even greater success, by hosting presentations by entrepreneurs sharing their warts-and-all experiences – all culminating in a competition to win an impressive collection of business support to help take their success to the next level.
Together with our partners, we will surround the competition winners with every kind of advice and help they need to build on and achieve success.
Last word from Nick
“James Legal has achieved considerable success as a specialist business law firm committed to taking a fresh approach by being approachable, speaking in plain English, doing what is genuinely in our clients’ best interests and being transparent over fees.
“So we believe it’s our duty to give other businesses a helping hand, as part of our commitment to playing an active role in the community where we’re based.
“The campaign is aimed at businesses with real get-up-and-go, that have achieved a degree of success already but are hungry for more, as we’re passionate about unlocking the vast amount of talent that exists in our region.
“We love nothing more than handholding companies through every stage of their developmental journey, by providing them with the variety of help they need as well as legal assistance, and so the InspiringBusiness initiative is a perfect extension of what we do every day.
“The opportunities and relationships generated by this year’s campaign have left us with a really warm glow and we hope everyone will get behind us, get involved and help to make it even bigger and better next year!”
Our firm has always had a strong community ethos centred on giving back by supporting our local area. Initiatives like InspiringBusiness2018 are among our ways of doing that.
This year’s competition winner will be judged by a panel including Nick and a selection of our campaign partners.
