Legal Costs – what’s free, what’s not and how much?

Don’t let concerns about legal costs, stop you from getting much needed legal support!

We offer a fresh approach to Legal Costs.

Let’s see how it works…

We Break
the Mould

Free Initial Chat

Our initial chat, consultation or meeting (or whatever we call it) will be 100% free in most cases.

Call in for a coffee, chat over the phone, connect over video call. It’s up to you.

Once we have discussed your needs, we’ll discover what work might to be done to help.

Sometimes a chat and a bit of guidance is all you need. On other occasions, we may need to step in and help you.

The consultation gives you the chance to get some initial advice or guidance, whilst getting to know our team and the support they can provide.

If you ask us to take further action, we will provide you with a fixed fee quote for the work that appears to be needed.

Benefit from:

  • Clarity on costs
  • Flagging it up if things change that might affect costs
  • Agreeing costs with you
  • Open dialogue about fees
  • Communication about financial viability

Fixed Legal Fees for set work

We think it’s important to know how much something is going to cost in advance – and legal fees are no exception.

Contrary to the ‘traditional’ charging model of most solicitors, we believe Legal Costs can be fixed.

The best way to budget and avoid surprise legal bills is to agree a fixed fee in advance for the work that need to be done.

We have a range of fixed fees for a whole range of legal services, so you can make an informed decision. In most instances, we will provide a fixed price for a specific piece of legal work (called the scope of work), clearly stating what we will do in writing for the agreed price.

If things change, such as the scope of work changes or more work is needed, we will flag this up with you and discuss the implications on legal costs.

Clear Legal Costs Information

If you want us to carry out legal work on your behalf, we will send you a written Proposal at the outset so you know exactly what work we will carry out – and a clear estimate of the Costs involved for that work.

Costs Updates and Changes

Solicitors are often criticised for only advising clients about the extent of their Legal Costs at a late stage or, in some cases, not at all.

To prevent substantial legal bills from accruing without your knowledge or consent, we will keep you up to date about your Legal Costs, at the outset and as the case proceeds.

Things change, sometimes more work sometimes different work, if things change from what was originally envisaged we will let you know. If this changes costs, we will let you know about that too.
