Byron Swarbrick
Solicitor
What makes me tick?
People - I’ve often been told I’m a people person. I love talking to clients, exploring their options and working with them to meet their goals. I always feel quietly chuffed when a client is happy we have achieved the outcomes they want. These similar feelings fuel my personal life. I am motivated to build a happy, secure, life for myself and my loved ones. While it is early days, I feel a quiet sense of satisfaction when I take a small step towards this goal.
My experience
I trained and qualified as a solicitor at the end of 2013 with another respectable law firm in Hull. Wanting a new challenge and encouraged by James Legal’s fresh and forward thinking approach to legal advice, I joined their growing corporate/commercial team in 2018. I have experience of a wide range of corporate transactional work as well as assisting business start-ups and advising on shareholder arrangements. I also have a background in employment law, advising on both non-contentious and contentious matters, which assists me working alongside our employment team.
Outside of work
Much of my spare time is spent with my girlfriend, our friends and family (or, more accurately, doing the things my girlfriend has organised for us to do). Joking aside, I do love relaxing and spending time with those around me. I enjoy getting out in the fresh air with my little dog Charlie. I have a running battle with getting to the gym and am never too far away from [my Kindle OR a good book]. I have a long held interest in art and, when I find the time, have been known to draw or paint, particularly portraits. I’m a member of the Humber Bridge Half Marathon committee and help to organise the event each year (although, am yet to run it!).
